HERE ARE SOME OF THE HANDMADE TOYS FOR THE SHOP

I made the brown fur fabric and pipe-cleaner teddies The Large and tiny blue teddies, blue rabbit and the giraffe are all knitted and were gifts from a friend, Sue of Mummsie Miniatures, who is a very talented knitter, as an idea of size the rabbit is not quite 30mm tall.

Sue can be contacted by e-mail on mummsie-miniatures@tesco.net

SHOP FITTINGS

Almost all of the fittings can be removed easily if necessary. The front units are designed to provide window displays. There is still a counter with clear display unit for safe storage of fireworks to be made and the upstairs back-room may eventually be for books. The toys are not "on display" at the moment, it is just convenient to store them in the shop as they are acquired, eventually most of the model aircraft will be hanging from the ceiling. No lighting has been installed yet and the upstairs work rooms haven't been started.

The floors are covered with carpet tiles for a hard-wearing surface suitable for a shop. I made these with squares of two different shades of blue felt stiffened with fabric stiffener and pressed with a hot iron. The clock (just visible) is a button painted gloss red with a printed clock face stuck on. Both buildings have some of these clocks in various colours and they all show the same time.

Still so much to do ........
